An Educational Advocate has experience and expertise in the field of education and the laws that impact your child’s success in school. Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges, especially when it comes to supporting your child's education. It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed with all the laws surrounding education, but with an Educational Advocate, you're not alone in navigating this journey.
Both plans provide accommodations and modifications based on a diagnosed disability. However, an IEP provides goals and services that are progress monitored at least every quarter.
An Educational Advocate can collaborate with the service providers, request data, and request a more frequent meeting to address concerns and gaps not being addresses. The parent should receive a progress report at the end of each report card period.
The matrix determines the amount of additional funding that is being provided for your child’s services and support from the federal government. When an Advocate reviews the IEP, there may be areas of needs not being addressed or provided that will increase or decrease the amount of money your child should be receiving. In addition, with school of choice legislation, you can have those funds applied to the school you desire your child to attend.
